The Element of Water is sustaining, cleansing, purifying, life-giving and life-taking, and resonates with our emotions, the times of evening and autumn, and the universal power of Love in all Realms.

The Queen of Souls

Water and Water

She is laughing, and has wet dark curly hair, a sensuous wide mouth and brown eyes. She emerges naked from a pool of bright rippling water and we see her breasts and beautiful firm body as far as the hips, but the rest is underwater. We see her from above with the bright water filling the entire background of the card. she looks directly up at us. Around her neck is a simple gold chain with a small natural curved horn fastened at both ends, sitting just below the hollow of her throat. The horn is just large enough to contain a small amount of fluid.

This being is Water of Water, and is strongly emotional, loving and giving, and can be profoundly sensuous and sexual. In a human woman this queen can be driven by her feelings, her intuitions and her Moon power at the expense of all other factors in her life. In non-human beings this double Elemental pattern can show sacred functions, such as goddesses and other beings associated with tides of birth and death. Innerworld priestesses often present themselves as this queen to meditators, though the function is sometimes a mask for a more complex spiritual power.
