The Court of Ancestors:
Element of Earth

The Element of Earth is solid, reflective, sustaining, form-giving and form-taking. In human terms it resonates with the physical body, the land, the planet. It also resonates with the times of night and winter, and the universal powers of Law and Liberty.

Earth and Water

The queen is a mature woman, verging on aged, though her age is difficult to tell. She has strong features and a powerful, thick but feminine body. She stands facing us, and wears a dark green and black sleeveless robe that reaches to her ankles, with the green making a faint tartan like effect on the black, with vertical and horizontal stripes in the weave. Her feet are bare and she is not tattooed or decorated in any way.

The queen has pale skin and green-brown eyes, and her hair is a thick flowing silver with dark streaks, braided with black and red stone or jewel-like round beads. Upon her head is a head-dress or crown of gold, silver and lead, with quartz crystals set into it. This is a divinatory crown.

The Queen of Ancestors stands before a curtain of water, through which we see a cavern with a fire burning within.

This queen is both mother and priestess, strong, wise, loving. Her hidden power is one of prophecy, and in a human woman this power appears as the second sight or divinatory and natural magic. The image also embodies priestesses and goddesses of the Underworld, of the prophetic powers and the ancient traditions of earth magic.
