Element of Earth

The Element of Earth is solid, reflective, sustaining, form-giving and form-taking. In human terms it resonates with the physical body, the land, the planet. It also resonates with the times of night and winter, and the universal powers of Law and Liberty. The Child of Ancestors

Earth and Earth

The child is short and chubby, wearing a green shift with a pattern of leaves woven into it. His/her hair is brown and shaggy, and his skin is deeply tanned. The child's eye are golden yellow like those of a hawk or owl and slightly slanting and enlarged. He holds a spray of green leaves and green acorns, and emerges from a thick wall of forest that reaches up to fill the entire card. The trees are huge and impenetrable with hanging creepers and a riot of growth. We have the impression that the child may be very small.

This child may be human or non-human, and often we are not sure if we meet such a child what kind of being he or she may be. As they grow older the human mask usually predominates. In other Realms these are the faery and spirit children of the living land, but should never be thought of as weak, cozy or cuddly. They have the power of the entire planet to draw upon.
