THE KINGSHIP AS AN EMBLEM OF THE RED AND WHITE DRAGONS

Throughout the Prophecies, the Crown is the vessel or emblem of history, transformation, and spiritual powers of destruction, creation, and change. This history of the land, of the people, is encapsulated in the story of the struggle between the Red and White Dragons, which becomes the struggle between royal houses, Celts and Saxons, Britons and Germans.

Verse 26 carries us to the end of a cycle, for it covers Revolution, Restoration, and Abdication. James II, son of Charles II, abdicated the throne, the final turning point in British history that led to the end of the Stuart rule in England. From this point on, the Stuarts become, so to speak, the vessels of the Red Dragon (Celts, Britons) while the Hanoverians who replaced them are vessels of the White Dragon (Saxons) as they came from Germany.

THRESHOLD AND KEY VISION OF CHANGE

27 A hoary old man sitting upon a snow white horse shall turn the course of the River Periron, and shall measure out a mill upon it with a white rod.

V27 is one of the Key Visions in the Prophecies. It represent powers of change, and marks the transition from the Stuart kingship to the Hanoverian. Measuring a mill is a symbol of spiritual potency at work. The white rod is the emblem of divine will.

28 Cadwallader shall call upon Conanus, and take Albania into alliances Then shall there be a slaughter of foreigners; then shall the rivers run with blood. Then shall break forth the fountains of Armorica (Brittany) , and they shall be crowned with the diadem of Brutus.

v28 William of Orange comes to the throne of England in 1689, despite opposition from many parts of Britain, and despite repeated attempts to restore James. Cadwallader, Conanus, and Albany are old names for England, Wales, and Scotland. The internal strife of this period is further symbolized by the fountains of Armorica: in Celtic mythology fountains and springs arise in times of great change, as powers that cleanse the land of corruption. The diadem of Brutus hints at the union of to come, for the old chroniclers stated that Britain was so called after Brutus (though nowadays this theory is discounted).

29 Cambria shall be filled with joy, and the oaks of Cornwall flourish. The island shall be called by the name of Brutus, and the name given it by foreigners shall be abolished.

v29 By 1707 the Act of Union, still unpopular in Ireland, Scotland, and Wales today, had been passed. Britain became the official name, and England (given by Angles and Saxons) became secondary.

v29 also refers the gradual strengthening and stability of the Hanoverian period, though was gained at the expense of Scotland and Ireland.

30 From Conan shall proceed a warlike Boar that shall exercise the sharpness of his tusks within the Gallic woods. For he shall cut down all the larger oaks, and shall be a defense to the smaller. The Arabians and Africans shall dread him; for he shall pursue his furious course to the further part of Spain.

v30 refers to the Duke of Wellington (1769-1852), who fought successful campaigns against the French (Gallic woods), and in Spain, Portugal, Arabia, and Africa. He substantially reduced French power

31 Next shall succeed the Ram of the Castle of Venus, with golden horns and silver beard. He shall breathe forth a cloud from his nostrils as shall darken the surface of the Island. There shall be peace in his time, and corn shall abound by reason of the fruitfulness of the soil.

32 Women shall become as serpents in their gait and all their motion shall be full of pride. The camp of Venus shall be restored, nor shall the arrows of Cupid cease to wound. The fountain of a River shall turn into blood, and two kings shall fight a duel at the Ford of the Staff for a Lioness.

33 Luxury shall over spread the whole ground, and fornication not cease to debauch mankind.

v 31-33 bring us into the period of George IV. Notorious for his amorous way of life, he is the Ram of the Castle of Venus. Venus in Aries implies idealism, passion, flirtation, creativity, love affairs, self-indulgence, and generosity. These characterize the fashionable and often indolent society of the Prince Regent.

Despite such extravagance, and the cost of the Napoleonic war, Britain gradually moved into a period of peaceful production, as described in v31.

In v32 we discover the feud between the prince and his father, George III, over marriage to a Catholic widow. It was, and still is, forbidden for the English monarchy to marry a Catholic. Such a marriage, for the Hanoverians, places the succession at risk, as the Stewart kings were all Catholic.

DEBAUCHERY

The references to debauchery occur repeatedly throughout the Prophecies, and are especially emphasized during the Apocalypse at the climax of the prophetic verses. When the relationship between humanity and the land and planet is imbalanced, it is revealed in the behavior of humans. Prophecies worldwide tend to remind us about right living, harmonious patterns, and to speak out against iniquity and injustice.

34 All these things shall Three Ages see, till the buried Kings shall be exposed to public view in the city of London.

THE THREE AGES

v35 is another threshold verse, reminding us that the scope of the Prophecies is more grand than the mere activities of besotted royalty. The crown is an emblem for the land and people, which in turn are emblems for a planetary awareness, as we discover during the Apocalyptic vision.

As with other key verses, v34 gives us a very precise encapsulation of time, concluding an entire historic phase, and offering a vision that enables us to identify the time-frame.

The buried kings in Westminster becoming a public show pinpoints the mid 20th century, when this became a huge international tourist attraction, and British heritage in general became a leisure industry.

The Three Ages are as follows:

  1. 500 CE to the Norman conquest (Saxons and Normans), sixth to eleventh century.

  2. Norman domination to the united Crown of James I/VI. Eleventh to seventeenth century.

  3. From the eighteenth to the twenty-first century. During the later part of this Third Age, the Prophecies describe cosmic events, moving entirely away from British history, through planetary changes, into stellar patterns.

35 Famine shall again return. Mortality shall return and the inhabitants shall grieve for the destruction of their cities.

36 Then shall come the Boar of Commerce who shall recall the scattered flocks to the pasture that they have lost. His breast shall be food to the hungry and his tongue drink to the thirsty. Out of his mouth shall flow rivers that shall water the parched jaws of men.

v35-36 refers to the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, with the growth of the Industrial Revolution. During this time commercial interests built a network of canals across Britain which were the arteries of trade and industry.

37 After this shall be produced a Tree upon the Tower of London. Having no more than three branches it shall overshadow the whole Island with the breadth of its leaves. Its adversary the North Wind shall come upon it with its noxious blast, and shall snatch away the third branch.

38 The two remaining branches shall take its place, till one shall destroy another by the multitude of their leaves. This branch shall fill the place of the other two, and shall give sustenance to birds of foreign nations. It shall be esteemed to fly freely, hurtful to native fowls, for they shall not be able (to fly) for fear of its shadow.

v37-38 : The Tree upon the Tower of London is the genealogical tree of the royal family. The three branches are that of George IV, William IV who died without heirs, and Victoria, soon to be ruler of a huge world empire.

Victoria’s family was strategically married into the royal houses of Europe and Russia (multitude of leaves, sustenance to birds of foreign nations).

EMERGING INTO THE 20TH CENTURY

39 Then shall succeed the Ass of Wickedness, swift against the goldsmiths, but slow against the ravenous Wolves.

v39 may refer to Nazi persecution of the Jews

40 In those days the oaks of the forests shall burn, and acorns grow upon lime trees. The Severn sea shall discharge itself through seven mouths, and the river Usk burn for seven months. Fishes shall die in the heat thereof, and from them serpents will be born.

v40 is another example of a vision that can be identified by us in the twentieth century. The distorted growth in nature, the burning rivers, all indicate nuclear pollution. The Severn is an estuary into the Atlantic, and a number of nuclear plants are sited there. From the 1970’s to the present day there have been leaks and pollution from these sites, though the details are often suppressed.

There is also a plan to construct a Severn tidal barrier, which would cause the river to discharge through multiple outlets.

41 The baths of Badon shall grow cold, and their salubrious waters engender death.

London shall mourn for the death of twenty thousand, and the river Thames shall be turned to blood. The monks in their cowls shall be forced to marry, and their cry shall be beard upon mountains of the Alps.

v41(a) came true during the period of 1979-81. A tragic freak accident occurred in which a girl died of amoebic meningitis after swimming the ancient hot springs of Bath (Badon). This caused the closure of the springs, and some disruptive drilling around the main source. The water has not been reopened for swimming to this day. Amoeba are found naturally in all hot springs worldwide, and generally do not cause illness unless the person is prone to certain forms of meningitis (according to medical authority).

Thus the waters grew cold, for the original spring was closed, and , sadly, caused one death.

v41 (b) In the same time frame, there is a disaster in London. We might be tempted to see it as a reference to the London Blitz, in which many people died. It has been suggested that the allusion to monks being forced to marry refers, obliquely, to the AIDS and HIV epidemics, with inferences of sexual behavior and transmission.
